Every NDIS plan has to be managed in one of three ways: by the NDIA, by you, or by a registered plan manager. With plan management, your providers send their invoices to the plan manager, who checks them, claims the funding from the NDIA and pays the provider. You still choose your supports and providers. The plan manager just makes sure the money side is handled correctly and that you can see where you stand.
Plan management is not taken from your support funding. It has its own budget, Improved Life Choices, which the NDIA includes in your plan when you request it. Logan families sometimes hesitate because they assume it will cost them hours of support. It costs your other budgets nothing at all.

Your providers invoice us. We confirm that the support is in your plan, that the hours and dates make sense and that the rate is within the limits, then we pay. You can choose to approve every invoice yourself or leave the routine ones to us.
Once a month you get a statement that shows spending by budget, remaining funds and how that lines up with the time left in your plan. If something looks off, we flag it rather than waiting for you to notice.
We submit all claims through the NDIS portal, follow up anything that is delayed or rejected and resolve the cause. Logan participants tell us this is the part they are happiest to hand over.
Each invoice is checked against the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, including the correct rates for time of day, travel and short-notice cancellations. If a charge is outside the rules we talk to the provider before paying.

Many of the best-fit providers in Logan are unregistered. That includes independent support workers who live locally, small cleaning and yard maintenance businesses, private therapists working from home clinics, and community groups running social and skills programs. An NDIA-managed plan cannot pay any of them. A plan-managed plan can, provided the support is reasonable and necessary and within your plan.
For a region as spread out as Logan City Council's area, that flexibility matters. It means you can choose a worker from Eagleby rather than one who has to drive from the other side of Brisbane, keep a provider who has decided not to go through registration, and fill gaps when the registered organisations have no capacity. We still hold unregistered providers to the price limits and to proper invoicing.
We are not an independent plan manager, and we think you should know that before you choose us. Independent plan managers do plan management only. MediHealth Connect also provides community nursing in Logan, support coordination in Logan and other supports, so it is possible for us to be both your plan manager and one of the providers we pay.
We handle that conflict of interest in the open. The plan management team is separate from the clinical and coordination teams. Our own invoices receive the same scrutiny as everyone else's and appear on your statement like any other. You are free to choose a different plan manager at any time, and we never make one of our services a condition of another. If you would feel more comfortable with a plan manager that has no other involvement in your supports, we will say so plainly and help you find one.

Moving your plan management to us is straightforward and can happen at any stage of your plan.
No. Plan management has its own funding line, Improved Life Choices, which the NDIA adds to your plan for this purpose. Your core, capacity building and capital budgets are not reduced by choosing a plan manager.
Ask your NDIA planner or local area coordinator for your plan to be plan-managed. You can do this at a planning meeting, at a plan review, or by requesting a plan variation during a plan. Once the funding is in your plan you can pick any registered plan manager.
Yes. Being plan-managed lets you use unregistered providers as well as registered ones, which opens up a lot of local sole traders, small businesses and private clinicians across Logan. The support must be reasonable and necessary under your plan, and some supports, such as those involving regulated restrictive practices, must still come from a registered provider.
We claim and pay each invoice as soon as it has passed our checks against your plan and the NDIS price limits. We put our current processing times in writing in your service agreement instead of advertising a figure that may change. If you prefer to approve invoices first, payment waits for your approval.
Yes. You can change plan managers at any point without affecting your plan or budgets. Give notice to your current plan manager as set out in your agreement, sign with the new one, and the two agree a changeover date.
It is permitted, as long as the provider manages the conflict of interest. MediHealth Connect offers both in Logan, keeps the two teams separate, checks its own invoices the same way as any other provider's and makes sure you know you can use a different provider for either role.
